A ladybird soldering and display project

We've discovered Coccinellidae Boldportus, a new type of ladybird in Bermondsey, London. After much experimentation in preservation techniques we're sending you a fine specimen for safekeeping. Please take care of it for posterity’s sake.

The Lady was project #4 of the Boldport Club.

What’s included

You’ll need to supply your own battery.

Assembly

Assembly is fairly straightforward, so feel free to figure out how to do it on your own.

Mounting option by bending the legs into the plaque's four holes

Connecting external power is possible by attaching terminals to the 'eyes' and jumping the solder bridges.

Connecting external power is possible by attaching terminals to the 'eyes' and jumping the solder bridges.

The schematics is pretty basic. Each 'leg' of the TheLady functions as a current limiting resistor that's made of two 68Ω resistors in series.

It is possible to power the board from an external source connecting the power to the 'eyes' and connecting the 'solder bridges' using a solder blob. Make sure not to have the battery inserted when applying external power!

To mount the TheLady onto the mirrored plaque, either used rubber bands (not supplied) or bend the legs after inserting them into the corner holes.

See assembly videos at the end of this page.
