I'm a novice/maker/expert; is the Boldport Club right for me?

The projects that we create do not target any specific level of expertise or audiences. We aim to create projects that could potentially be interesting to anyone, although they are not of the 'learn electronics / how to solder' kind (many of those exist elsewhere). Some projects are very easy while some would be challenging even for the experienced. As long as you're willing to ask, learn, explore, discover, try, and quite possibly fail at the process, you'll be fine and in good company. If you're a complete novice, it would probably be best to have someone experienced help with some projects. We have a large community on our Slack group and there's always quick help waiting there.

I want to gift a membership but I'm not quite sure that the person will enjoy it. What do you think?

That's really hard to answer. Does the answer above seem to describe that person reasonably well? If so, that's a good indication. Our projects do not normally require advanced equipment or other electronics that a hobbyist/maker/engineer wouldn't already have. If we haven't shipped anything yet and you'd like to cancel the membership then get in touch and we'll see what we can do.

I don't want the subscription to automatically renew; is that possible?

Easy. You simply cancel the subscription right after signing up. The shipments that you paid for will go out as scheduled but you won't be re-billed after that.

I placed an order of additional kits at the shop; when will those be shipped?

We ship shop orders with the next scheduled subscription shipment. That happens between the 10th and the 15th of each month. If there's ever a need to ship an item before that, get in touch and we'll see what we can do about it.

Some projects at the shop are out of stock; will you make more?

Probably not. We make batches of projects every month and what we don't ship to members goes to the shop until stock is exhausted. There may be reasons to make further batches of out-of-stock projects in the future but we currently don't plan on it.

I've just missed the cut-off; can I still get this month's project?

Get in touch with us to ask. As long as we haven't shipped the projects (typically happens between the 10th and 15th of the month) we can change your subscription so that you get it.

The project arrived! It's lovely. But it is missing a component :( What's the plan?

Sorry about that! We do our best for that not to happen. Email us to let us know and we'll sort it out as soon as possible.

Can I have a discount? Do you have a referral programme?

No and nope. But we do have a student discount programme!

I'm no longer a member but I keep getting your email. WTF?

We don't remove people from the email list. To stop getting emails from us just unsubscribe using the link at the bottom of the email.
